01 / Planning your project
Put the users and the room first.
A nursery sleep room, a classroom with a display screen and a staff office have different priorities. Tell us the ages of children using the space, how the windows open and who will operate the blinds.
Operating methods without accessible hanging cords or chains should be considered. Where a selected system requires safety devices, those devices form part of the installation and must remain in use.
02 / Planning your project
Specify the required evidence.
Provide the building’s fabric fire-performance requirement, cleaning expectations and any access or safeguarding rules. We check documents for the products proposed rather than treating all education installations as the same specification.
For darkening a room, discuss both the fabric and the edge detail. A blackout fabric on an ordinary roller still leaves possible light gaps; a more controlled installation may be appropriate where the room needs it.
03 / Planning your project
Agree a safe installation programme.
We discuss room availability, sign-in arrangements, site induction and restrictions on working around children before agreeing dates. Holiday or out-of-hours work is subject to availability and the agreed quotation.
A window schedule and clear photographs help us prepare an initial estimate. Existing products can be assessed for agreed removal and replacement; repairs are limited to products supplied by AdamsBlinds.
