Identify the window before choosing a blind
For a VELUX window, a photograph of the identification plate provides model and size information. Other makes have their own identification details. Send the full code and a clear photograph of the openable unit where it is safe to obtain them.
Do not rely solely on the glass dimensions or on the description skylight. Window generations and frame details can affect compatibility. We confirm the proposed product against the actual opening rather than assuming that a similar-looking blind will fit.

Choose the fabric for the room below
Light-filtering fabric can diffuse daylight in a work area, while an appropriate opaque system may be preferable for sleeping. Some ranges offer other fabric and slatted options. The available choice depends on the roof-window model and the required operation.
An internal blind manages the light entering the room, but it should not be treated as a complete solution to summer overheating. Tell us about strong solar exposure and any existing ventilation or external shading so the enquiry addresses the wider conditions.

Plan operation without awkward reaching
A hand-operated moving rail is sensible only if it can be used comfortably. Suitable extension controls or powered options may be needed at height. Existing electrical equipment does not automatically establish compatibility with a new blind, so the details need checking.
We also consider how the window opens for ventilation and cleaning and how installation access will be provided. At handover we explain the blind’s supported movement and care. Any special access equipment or separate electrical work should be agreed in the scope before the visit.
