01 / Planning your project
Match the fabric to the direction of the light.
A screen fabric filters incoming light while retaining some view, but its appearance and privacy depend on the weave and the light on either side of the glass. It is not the same as a blackout fabric.
A sample held at your window helps explain the difference more clearly than a colour name. We can discuss whether you need glare control during calls, a darker room for projection or simply a softer daylight level.
02 / Planning your project
Use the angle of the slats.
Venetian and vertical blinds let you redirect light without raising the whole blind. The slat or louvre angle can be adjusted as the sun moves, but an awkward control position may discourage regular use.
Consider the desk, shelves and any opening sash before deciding where the controls go. Motorised operation can be useful for an inaccessible window or several blinds, subject to the chosen system and power arrangement.
03 / Planning your project
Check the evening view as well.
A home office can become a guest room, music room or family space after work. If privacy after dark matters, we consider how the chosen fabric behaves with the interior lights on.
Give us the full brief at the start rather than solving screen glare alone. A second layer or a different product may be more practical than asking one translucent fabric to do every job.
