About this system
Wire guides help keep a roller blind’s bottom bar close to its intended position. Adaptors at the ends of the bar travel along tensioned stainless-steel wires fixed at the top and bottom of the installation. This can be useful where an opening window or draught causes a freely hanging blind to move.
The wires guide the bottom bar; they do not seal the fabric edge. If reducing light at the sides is the main requirement, compare channel guides or a cassette system with side channels. We check the proposed brackets, bottom bar and fixing surfaces before specifying the kit.
Provide suitable fixing points
Each wire needs a secure top and bottom attachment. A thin trim, soft seal or unsupported finish is not automatically a suitable fixing surface, so clear photographs are helpful when assessing a retrofit.
Check the purpose of the guide
A wire guide is a positioning accessory. It does not turn an internal blind into an external wind-rated system, and it is not a fall barrier or security device. Tell us what movement you are trying to control.
