About this system
An overhead blind needs support that does not depend on fabric simply hanging down. R26 uses a constant-tension spring with a cord-and-pulley arrangement to move the fabric across suitable roof glazing. It is available with two barrel sizes, chosen according to the opening and fabric.
This is a manual overhead system, so the route of the cord and the position of its cleat need careful planning. We assess the window angle, fixing surfaces and access for installation as well as the visible width and drop. The control must be reachable and safely secured.
Plan the roof opening
Photographs from below and a drawing of the recess help us assess the arrangement. Any handles, ventilation equipment, steps in the reveal or other obstructions should be identified before we specify the blind.
Compare overhead alternatives
R26 is useful where cord operation is practical. A crank-driven R56 or electric R57 may suit a different access arrangement, while a channelled overhead cassette offers a more enclosed appearance.
