About this system
The R20S is operated at the bottom bar rather than by a side chain. A braked spring inside the barrel allows the blind to stay at the chosen height, providing a simple arrangement for windows that are easy to reach. The mechanism is concealed within a 32 mm aluminium barrel.
This model has a smaller published size range than the standard chain-operated R20. It is therefore best considered window by window, with the fabric weight and the user’s reach checked before selection. A turn-button tag or alternative bottom-bar finish can be considered where appropriate.
A sensible choice for reachable windows
The user needs to reach the blind comfortably throughout its travel. At a high window, a chain, crank or powered model may be easier to operate. Furniture below the window also affects how practical a spring blind will be.
Control the return
The spring and any limit-stop arrangement must be set correctly for the fabric and drop. Use the operating method provided with the finished blind rather than allowing it to snap back into the roller.
