Which Blind Types Are Recommended For Kitchen Windows?
The kitchen is the most visited place in the house; it is a heart and the centre of family gatherings, and a place where the parties seems to finish. That’s why each detail in the room matters to build a beautiful kitchen that feels right. Therefore, one of the most important aspects among others is lighting. We presume that your aim is to increase natural light coming into the room by choosing the right blind. However, when we are talking about blinds, recommended for kitchen windows we should take into account activities on-going there. First, what comes to mind is cooking that causes steam, humidity and food splashes. It means that you should choose blinds which aren’t easily affected by all above mentioned facts or are easily cleaned and wiped. Especially if you are planning a lot of cooking.
Curtains, shutters and soft fabrics, all are easily affected by moisture and to avoid this uncomfortable situation, we would recommend you to choose moisture resistant materials, which can’t be easily damaged. According to our experience we would say that there isn’t a one, exact type of blind recommended for the kitchen windows. It would more depend on window’s location, on your own needs and as the choice is wide it all comes down to your personal feel of the style.

If your windows are facing the road and you prefer to have a flexible light with privacy control we would recommend Vertical, Venetian or Faux Wood Blinds.

Whether your windows are overlooking a beautiful garden or nature you wouldn’t worry much about privacy and for that Roller Blinds (or Perfect Fit Blinds in case of full-height windows) would work perfectly. Those types of blinds have wide range of colours and patterns to choose the best fit for your room. It gives flexible control over the light in day or night-time.

And if your windows are right next to the sink or placed over the counter and the risk of getting them splashed/dirty are raising, please choose moisture-resistant-wipe-able, easy wipe, fabrics. We would recommend you to place PVC and Perfect Fit Roller Blinds or PVC Vertical Blinds, which gives easy excess to all needs you might have regarding privacy, light control and are less affected by moisture or humidity.

Blinds for full-height windows

Whether you have a big, full-height windows placed in the kitchen, Vertical Blinds or Roller Blinds would be the perfect recommendation from us.

However, if your kitchen windows are hard to reach, because of furniture or appliances, you could review the possibility of placing Electric Blinds operated by a remote controller, which would give you a chance to manipulate blinds from a distance.

Types of blinds that we do not recommend for kitchen windows

Types of blinds that we do not recommend for kitchen windows are Soft Fabric Blinds (Roman Blinds), as they are easily soaking moisture and also, they are hard to be cleaned or wiped. Besides, there are risks regarding a real wood blinds placed in the kitchen environment, as they can warp with time. However, the duration of their usage is indeed longer along with Soft Fabric Blinds.

Additionally, we would kindly ask you to avoid choosing Light Coloured Blinds, as dirt, water or food splashes will be easily noticed. Use dark coloured, wipe able and Water Proof Roller or Faux Wood Blinds, which would be more useful and also, smart decision.

Flame Retardant Kitchen Blinds

Flame Retardant Blinds are reducing the heat build-up and preventing rapid fire development. Usually, they are placed in public places and not necessarily used for the kitchen windows. However, if your priority is to increase safety, we would happily give you guidance.
